In support of neutrophils
This page has been set up to complement 'Friends' (www.chrisandkeith.wordpress.com) - a blog I established in early 2012 as a big community of love and empowering positivity for my husband Keith's journey through leukaemia. 'Friends' has also been set up to support others who are dealing with leukaemia - and as a source of outrageous inspiration for everyone who would like to feel empowered in dealing with whatever comes up in their own lives, and in the lives of those they love.
To read more of Keith's story and the fabulous Neutrophision Song Contest, download the entry book below and see the introduction.
PERMISSION TO USE. If you are able to use these ideas to personally support yourself and/or those you care about who are dealing with leukaemia, PLEASE DO! We would be delighted - and we'd LOVE to hear about it from you. You can contact me, Chris, on chris {@] chrishendersoncoaching.com. And we send the very best of love and healing thoughts your way.
NOTE RE DISTRIBUTION OF THIS MATERIAL. It is important to not share this material publicly as no approval has been sought or received - with one exception, that is. Our friend Kathy wrote to Leonard Cohen and was given unofficial approval by his manager to write our own version of a verse for Hallelujah ...after Kathy had asked Leonard Cohen if he would write and sing a verse for us!!
However, I'm sure it would be fine to share with families and staff within your Haemotology Ward. After all, considering what you are all going through, that surely would count as family!! Plus it's in the sharing that spirits increase and neutrophils surely also show their smiling faces again. So do share the joy.
UPDATE. November 2016: Keith, for whom these songs were written, continues to do really well and has had no signs of leukaemia since that time. We are blessed. May you be also. <3 <3

Audio
Below are a few audio recordings of songs submitted. Having FUN was the important criteria, so enjoy the spontaneity and don't take it too seriously.
Note, NONE of us thought of ourselves as singers. Some of us have lovely voices, a couple of us are tone deaf, however it was the gift of love, the intention and the courage that was so magnificent and made SUCH a difference. Some of these songs were sung by Keith's bed, by people who otherwise would NEVER EVER EVER do such a thing. Such is love and friendship. And they made such a difference. |
