We dined at the perfect place for this: Mu'ooz at West End.
We were joined by Mu'ooz' founder Saba, a courageous freedom fighter back in Eritrea. Saba has continued her inspiring work in her adopted country through empowering women refugees to gain employment and set up businesses of their own. Thus the restaurant provides training as well as superb cuisine.
Like TED talks, Communities of Empowerment is an idea to be shared! Please do so. Tell everyone - and invite the women in your life. These dinners are not-for-profit and run by volunteers. We depend on your sharing to help make the difference.
The idea is also going online through the Communities of Empowerment Facebook group. Note that this isn't only for women. It's for EVERYONE who has a commitment to building the common good, and to sharing those brilliant and gutsy initiative stories that you want to keep tabs on, and come across more often. The site will be launched at this next dinner. Meanwhile, I invite you to go there and start sharing your favourite initiatives that inspire and help make the difference that's needed. And invite your social justice/ environmentally conscious friends to also contribute.
