Metamorphosis

Metamorphosis: "a profound change in form from one stage to the next in the life history of an organism"

This was and continues the metamorphosis of women and of Howling!

METAMORPHOSIS : THE WOMEN
For more than four years and over two hundred participants, Women Howling at the Moon has been the catalyst for subtle through to profound changes for many women.

Plus there are a few hundred more who have connected via our online Howling group and newsletter updates.

July's Howling provided a unique opportunity for our whole community - all who could make it along - to share and celebrate the transformations; to identify what we consider the most important learnings; and to pay homage and activate the futures we choose to create.

We shared and celebrated four years of women making a difference for themselves and the community of Brisbane and beyond. We heard Women Howling at the Moon members share the challenges, delights and what keeps them flying.

A sparkly panel along the lines of December's very popular Fly Me to the Moon gala event spotlighted women such as Elina Juusola who is about to publish her second book and is contributing to the global conversation about a social justice issue. Plus there were 'pop-up panels' for those who would like take the plunge and begin to share their changes or plans.

The moment a vision is shared and energised, it begins to become real. Metamorphosis in action in your life and those around you.

For more of the adventure, subscribe to updates by adding your contact info in the opt-in form at top right of this page. And we look forward to your company.

Communities of empowerment launched with Saba

This was the start of our new format Women Howling dinner on Wednesday 9 August. The theme - ongoing - is Communities of Empowerment: a space for sharing and being inspired by good news with substance and affirmative action.
We dined at the perfect place for this: Mu'ooz at West End.

We were joined by Mu'ooz' founder Saba, a courageous freedom fighter back in Eritrea. Saba has continued her inspiring work in her adopted country through empowering women refugees to gain employment and set up businesses of their own. Thus the restaurant provides training as well as superb cuisine.
Like TED talks, Communities of Empowerment is an idea to be shared! Please do so. Tell everyone - and invite the women in your life. These dinners are not-for-profit and run by volunteers. We depend on your sharing to help make the difference.

The idea is also going online through the Communities of Empowerment Facebook group. Note that this isn't only for women. It's for EVERYONE who has a commitment to building the common good, and to sharing those brilliant and gutsy initiative stories that you want to keep tabs on, and come across more often. The site will be launched at this next dinner. Meanwhile, I invite you to go there and start sharing your favourite initiatives that inspire and help make the difference that's needed. And invite your social justice/ environmentally conscious friends to also contribute.

Women Howling at the Moon women's business network with a difference offers a series of monthly not-for-profit dinners featuring liberating conversations and presentations by courageous women leaders.

The community The community includes women activists, social change agents, nonprofits, forprofit social enterprises and women passionate about contributing in some way to a peaceful, just and inclusive world.

September's Howling featured a conversation with Juanita Wheeler who is founder and licensee of TEDxBrisbane - and also founder of Full & Frank, the Brisbane-based boutique consultancy established to build the performance and success of nonprofits, social enterprises and profit-with-purpose organisations.

By the way, the catalyst for Juanita to move out of her corporate job and follow her passion was the power of a group of women. In the words of Anne Summers, their group that "set out to inspire people to change their lives, their futures and ultimately their world". The focus was empowerment.
